Governor Rhoden Signs AFP-SD-Backed REINS Act into Law
Pierre, SD — Americans for Prosperity-South Dakota (AFP-SD) was on hand as Governor Larry Rhoden signed South Dakota’s REINS Act into law on Thursday, officially codifying stronger legislative oversight for new regulatory proposals. The signing comes a little over a week following the REINS Act’s successful passage out of the State Legislature.
AFP-SD State Director Jennifer Beving released the following statement:
“South Dakotans can now rest easy knowing their elected officials have a say before bureaucrats enact potentially harmful regulations. Governor Rhoden deserves a huge thank you for recognizing the importance of REINS and his help bringing the bill across the finish line.
“I couldn’t be prouder of the AFP-South Dakota team. We’ve worked hard since the session began to inform lawmakers about the benefits of the REINS Act, and that hard work has now paid off with today’s signing.”
